Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect during my treatment visit?

If this is your first appointment, you will complete a record card and I will ask some questions to help me understand what your objectives are for having a treatment, what concerns you may have and about you in general ie. job, exercise, diet, family. This will help me to tailor the treatment to your needs.

For subsequent appointments, I will ask a few questions regarding your health and lifestyle, if there's been any changes since the last treatment session.

It is up to you if you wish to chat during the treatment about anything or what my findings are.

At the end of the session, I will explain my findings and the next steps to take into consideration.

What home care advice should I follow post treatment?

  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and remove toxins from body
  • Avoid smoking, alcohol and caffeine for at least 12 hours
  • Avoid strenuous activity for the next 12 hours to allow body to relax
  • Perform stretches
  • Erythema - redness of skin due to increase blood flow
  • Avoid a heavy meal after treatment
  • Deep breathing exercise

How will I feel after treatment?

Every client will experience different reactions to a treatment depending on their well-being. There is the potential of a healing crisis that may occur in the next 2-3 days.

A healing crisis is a good thing, even though it makes you feel bad before you feel better, stronger and healthier. It’s a temporary worsening of symptoms before feeling better that occurs when your body is going through healing process. The process is eliminating the toxins, impurities and imbalances in the body. Within 24-36 hours of post treatment, you may experience worsening of existing symptoms or manifest of symptoms that didn’t exist before. You can help the healing process by having a balanced diet, eliminate alcohol and caffeine, drink lots of water to hydrate the body and lots of rest.

Here are some of the healing reactions that may occur during a Healing Crisis:

  • Tiredness and lethargy because of the release of toxins
  • Feelings of dizziness or nausea
  • Aching or soreness in the muscles
  • Heightened emotional state – depression, weepiness or laughter
  • Increased urination or bowel movements as the toxins are expelled from the body
  • Increased secretions of mucus from the nose and mouth
  • Cold-like symptoms
  • Disturbed sleep patterns

What clothing do I need to wear for treatment?

During the treatment you will be covered with towels in which are removed temporarily when that part of the body is being worked on. Men must have underpants on and for the ladies, bra (optional) and underwear on. If you prefer to leave your clothes on, this is absolutely fine.

How often do I need to have a treatment?

Every client is different on a physical and emotional well-being. Their intentions for having a treatment will also differ. For general care, it is recommended to have a session every 3-5 weeks. For clients that have areas of concerns ie. sore back, water retention, high stress levels, it is recommended a session every 2 weeks.

Some treatments like Manual Lymphatic Drainage will require a session every 2-3 days for a shorter duration to see the benefits.

COVID Information

It is advisable you do not have a treatment for 72 hours after receiving your vaccine or booster jab.

It is advisable not to have a treatment 14 days from the last negative test result.
